I'm trying to get my minecraft FPS up, so I'm allocating 2-3 GB of memory on my iMac. But the problem is, the memory shows 3% used! How can I fix this?
It's normal behavior. You cannot really force Minecraft to use all the memory/ram you allocated. They do not even need that much. Minecraft will run at its max with even 256mb allocated.
Contrary to popular belief, the more ram you allocate does not equal to better performance. It has no prominent effect at all.
