Whenever I try to update Minecraft on my Windows 7 PC to 1.5.2, I get this:
Failed to lauch
Fatal error occurred (4): null
And whenever I select "Not Now", the screen freezes on "Done Loading". I've deleted my .minecraft file and redownloaded it many times, along with attempting to play it online, but nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is caused by Mojang sending Minecraft's updates through s3.amazonaws.com, which is counted malicious on most firewalls.
Go onto your firewall and open a log (or something to view connections being blocked or not), and try to update again. It should show an s3.amazonaws.com address with something about Minecraft in the URL. Temporarily unblock that IP, and update. Then, block it again.
Temporarily unblock and re-block the IP whenever there is an update.
