Of this list of video cards, which is most likely to run minecraft? I do NOT care about speed, or about age, or anything like that; I just have a really bad computer with integrated SiS Mirage graphics, and minecraft crashes with it. I know these cards are old, but I can get them for free (and free is better than $200 since I am in debt to parents).
This should be a blast to the past for a lot of you:
1) Nvidia TNT2 Vanta AGP
2) 3dfx Voodoo3 AGP
3) A generic SiS card from 1999, AGP
I got these all for absolutely nothing from a junk heap along with a Pentium 4 PC. I know I REALLY need something better and I am keeping my eyes open for an opportunity. Trust me, I know all of these cards are junk by today's standards, and am not completely oblivious to today's technology. However, I basically get only what my parents let me, because I am 16 and they are making me pay a IT person to repair my laptop when I could do it myself for absolutely no cost. Thus, I am $400 in debt and not in the mood for someone to tell me to buy a card, Just say that it's hopeless if there's no chance any of these will work. My opinion is currently that none of them will but I want to make certain.
Again, i DO NOT care about if i get one frame per minute. I just want to be able to log in and chat with people.
I'd go with the nVidia TNT2, as it has OpenGL 1.2 support, which is the minimum required for Minecraft to run. You can also obtain its drivers fairly easily from nVidia's site, which is this one if I am not mistaken, http://www.nvidia.co...p_2k_61.77.html
The Voodoo3 card is also on par with the nVidia card, not sure of the specifics but both of those should be able to run the game somewhat. Honestly I've not heard of such a brand, and I am not really sure where to find such drivers, though a Google search should prove useful.
The SiS card is very much outperformed by the two cards above, so I wouldn't recommend that.
