Hiya! My name's Rii. Now that we're acquainted, mind giving me a hand in my little Minecraft problem? If not, well...have a nice day then, I suppose.
Anywho, the new software update for Mac (10.8.4) has been pretty usual to the previous updates, but one thing that pokes out is the fact that Minecraft is freezing very often. It normally takes me a good 10 minutes or so to be able to play a little close to normally as if it needs to warm-up. Even my world of close to nothing/void worlds are rejected. Any setting change also doesn't seem to alter the gameplay. It's not even choppy, it's either all or nothing when I try to play!
Now, I understand the whole "Macs aren't for gaming!" argument and I can see that side's point well enough so it'd be great if comments like "Get a PC!" were avoided. In all honesty, I am into general arts (music, visual art, etc.) more than gaming, so a Mac worked nicely for me.
ah, I'm sorry, got off-track- I'm no tech person, and I don't even know what to show you tech guys either. My Minecraft doesn't crash so I have no report to provide for viewing either. If anyone knows about the in-depth details of this new Mac update and can tell me the possible conflicts and resolutions to those, I'd be greatly appreciative!
oh, and I did try restarting my client. Didn't quite follow through, man.

edit: It appears by clearing my bin out helps it out incredibly, but installing optifine to help with the quality of Minecraft seems to do the opposite. Still a little lost.
