So, I've posed a topic about this a while back and decided it was a heat issue, causing lag spikes. So I sent my computer off to get it fixed. They sent it back with no issues, and i've run other games recently and no other game is causing an issue. I've noticed that my "used memory" is cycling very fast. To my understanding, it supposed to fill up and then do a "garbage dump" or something like that. But mine is doing that at once every 10 seconds or so. Sometimes more, and sometimes less. I haven't always had this issue, it has just started sense 1.5 or so. And I've had minecraft for quite a while. Also, I have my Dxdiag report here, I would love any help anyone can give me! Thanks
How fast it cycles depends upon how big your heap is and how fast MC is using it. on my system for example I have 50% of the heap allocated (default). The garbage collection runs ever time the heap gets to be ~25% used, knocking it down to around 15% used each time. If I had some kind of redstone, or automated farm, or something, maybe it would use memory more quickly (having more things to do each tick) and cycle more often.
Sorry for being so delayed, but im back now! I've noticed its primarily just when breaking blocks, theres a large lag spike. Optifine makes it worse, which is disappointing. Got any tips?
I've gotten the impression that there are some audio subsystems that have trouble when minecraft tries to play too many sounds at once. If you mute minecraft does this go away?
