I have searched ALOT, and I haven't found a solution that works. I have tried to turn off my firewall + antivirus (Avira and McAfee) and even uinstalled it, but it didn't work. The problem started first when I tried to update to 1.5.2.
It is caused because Mojang sends Minecraft's updates from s3.amazonaws.com, which is counted 'malicious' on most firewalls.
I don't know why it still happens if you disabled your firewall.
Also, don't disable your firewall anymore. Just find the IP Minecraft is trying to connect to (by opening the log, and trying to update.) and temporarily make an exception for it, instead of completely turning off your firewall which can get you hacked.
Someone help me... please?
