I run windows 7 64-bit, and for the past few weeks I have been trying to fix a problem I've been having with all java based games and applications (mostly Minecraft). The problem is that the game/application crashes every few minutes (it varies from 30 seconds in to an hour). It also seems to happen in bursts, meaning it happens a lot for a day and then not at all the next. Whenever it crashes I am given an error code in the location of the application. Here[1] is an example of one. They all look similar, but sometimes have a different problematic frame. Examples of them are: C 0x43640ed8, V [jvm.dll+0x20bc44], C [atioglxx.dll+0x7c83e] DrvPresentBuffers+0x3f49e, and others. Here[2] is my dxdiag as it has been requested before. I have asked for help on a few websites, and have been given a lot of advice, none of which have helped. I have tried:
Reinstalling Java 32 bit and 64 bit.
Reinstalling video drivers (done this multiple times as people have said it could be the problem)
Reinstalling the programs that are crashing
Restoring the computer to a system image that existed before I had this problem, because this didn't help, I think the error could be caused by a hardware error.
Enabling mini-dumps. Not really sure what these are but I did it anyway because error said to (have since turned them back off).
Running Memtest, this helped me discover that one stick of my memory seems to be a bit faulty, as it did have an error. I have since removed that stick and am now running one 4gb stick.
Sorry for such a long post and thanks for any help.
