About 2 years ago, when I was 11, I got minecraft for the computer. I thought it was The best game ever, and watched many videos. The one problem I always had, however, was my 10-15 fps. After about an hour, I realized how laggy it really was, and decided to serch the Internet. All the videos I watched had 50-100 fps at a time, and I was like ???? What is wrong with my computer. To this day, 2 years later, I still lag in minecraft. I think I've tried everything on the Internet possible, so I decided to post this. I might be getting a new computer at The end of the summer, but I have to make it work so I can play this summer. Enough story, lets get down to buisness

My computer is a Toshiba L755-S5216. I have windows 7 home premium. It's a 4 gb 64-bit operating system.( if u need more info let me know)

I've tried setting to a higher prority (high), installed game booster, turned every setting possible in Optifine off that is possible, cleared my recycle bin, uninstalled all that I think I could, updated java and windows, installed java 64-bit, dedicated more ram to minecraft, turned the battery and graphics card to high preformance, and just about everything else.

After all this, I can get around 20 fps in a forest and 25 in a plains. However, I can see absolutely nothing around me and the quality is horrible ;( I can also get ok fps in the end and in the sky ( lol ) because its less loaded chunks. I'm not a noob at minecraft, but my fps makes it just about impossible to pvp and even enjoy the game anymore. I even tried to record my screen once and post it to youtube, ya 4 fps vids dont get alot of likes...This is my favorite game so I really want to play it without lag. Any help will be appreciated and Don't be afraid to ask for more info regarding my computer or hard drive ( I know a lot about computers after digging around in my files looking for things to delete) xD please help!!!

Hmm... I know it seems opposite, but try a 32x32 or 64x64 texture pack. Optifine likes those better

Playing excessively on Minecraft can cause permanent lag on your computer.
Try to cut back.
Let your computer rest.

Anyways, you need a better graphics card, like Syfaro said.

ok...guess I cant play till the end of the summer...

I lag too, and have a slow motion problem, (see my topic for that) but I've learned to just deal with the lag. I was mad at first when I didn't get 100% smooth gameplay like all the youtubers, but I just dealt with the lag and kept playing.

I have another computer with a navida graphics card and I don't use it anymore...would it be any help to use that graphics card instead( the other computer isn't good with minecraft either, that's why I wouldn't use that one)
