I have a new MacBook Pro with 750 MB solid state drive, 2.6 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 16 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 RAM running OS 10.8.3 using an Intel HD graphics card 4000 (512 MB).
It ran Minecraft fine for 6 months or so, but recently, the game freezes as soon as I log in (I am able to launch the game and then get to the open screen; when I select a multiplayer server, it opens in the server, but immediately freezes and I have to quit the game.)
I have updated JAVA (see JAVA details below), increased the RAM usage in the plist, restarted, repaired permissions, reinstalled the OS software - all to no avail.
Any ideas?
JAVA details:
java version "1.6.0_45"
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_45-b06-451-11M4406)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.45-b01-451, mixed mode)

Never mind - I figured it out. Had a corrupt Minecraft folder, so I deleted it and restarted Minecraft and it was fine (then moved saves and server.dat and clients into the bin folder).
