So if I'm playing minecraft on my ubuntu computer, and I switch to another program (skype for an example), my entire will freeze, and I have no choice but to restart. I also figured out that the problem only occurs when I'm actually in-game (and not at the main menu). I think it may have something to do with me using OpenJDK. How can I switch from OpenJDK to Java 7?
Updated LWJGL, but it didn't fix it. I think it did fix some mouse issues I has having though, so thanks for that. I also removed OpenJDK, and installed Oracle Java 8. Still having issues.
Extra Info:
Every so often, my monitor will turn black as well
Minecraft worked amazingly well on Windows (same computer)
Doesn't seem to happen on the minecraft main menu

Might be a graphics driver issue perhaps. Do you have the correct/necessary drivers for your card?
use this command to check your system info, inxi -f
I'm not sure how integrated graphics work, but are you positive I need intel graphics drivers? Also, I just got another strange thing happening. When ever I would move, the blocks wouldn't all quite move at the same time. It made my eyes get teary and my head hurt.
Ok. I think I fixed the problem. One more question though. If I quickly look to the left while playing, the task bar (I think it's called the unity bar) comes up. Is there a way to prevent this?
Ok. I'm about to give up. I'm getting a lot of weird things going on. Most of which are making it way too hard to play. Should I make separate threads for each of them, or should I continue posting them here? Here are some of the things that aren't quite right.
Sound is synced when placing and destroying blocks
movement is a bit laggy (not fps lag, it almost feels like I have a very small version of cinematic view on)
scrolling between items is a bit laggy

yea, you need the drivers to get the most out of your system, when you rely on the default xorg driver for graphics, your system is only doing half of what it can do if your lucky, lol

sudo apt-get install --reinstall openjdk-7-jre
