My Minecraft screen turns black after I login into Minecraft. How do I fix this? I don't see anyone having this problem for Minecraft 1.5.2. I have a Mac OSX Lion 10.8. Guys, please don't keep saying that windows is better than Mac.
Maybe there is a problem with Java. Once upon a time Minecraft struggled with Java 1.7, so try using Java 1.6. This is what I am using, but I am on a Windows machine.

I haven't actually updated my Java recently, but that usually isn't the case whenever this happens. I think it has something to do with Kovacic Mod Pack though. I did have 1.5.2, I downloaded some mods off of it. I installed some other mods, then used the Uninstaller for Kovacic. I got a black screen, so I re-downloaded Minecraft. Sadly, this is what happened. Stupid me, I didn't keep a backup. I tried transferring files from another computer that had a working 1.5.2 onto my other computer, but all I got was a black screen. I don't really want to use that other computer, because Minecraft on that computer is slow. Anyone have any suggestions?
if you still have mods, there is so many reasons those mods could cause a problem i am not going to name them.
your uninstaller could be reinstalling them instead of uninstalling them, delete that and then your minecraft folder and you should be good.
neither mac or PC is good or bad, it all depends on what you are using it for.

I have 0 mods.Bty guys, I'm not sure what windows laptops you need to have 100+ fps, but my friends have windows laptops, and they get 0-10 fps, while I usually get 30+ fps. So I don't know exactly what type of windows laptop you need, but that's not the point. Guys, keep on giving suggestions.
To the OP, has the game worked before? If so, you may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To do so, start Minecraft, press 'Options' (above the 'Login' button), Press 'Force update!', then press 'Done', and login to Minecraft. See http://i.imgur.com/5b09B.png for visual instructions.

I have tried that. Never works. Though 1.5.2 did work before, but then I installed a mod incorrectly and deleted all the files of Minecraft folder and force updated. The Mojang screen froze, and I tried all types of tricks, they never worked. My other windows computer, which stinks, has a working 1.5.2 Minecraft. Would it be because that you would need the latest Java? Because it worked before without the latest Java, so that can't be the case. Can any console commands or stuff like that fix it?What does OP mean?

To do so, run the following command in a terminal:
So I should I just delete everything in the Minecraft folder, copy and paste the command on terminal, go to Minecraft, make it download it, and it will have a non-Mojang frozen 1.5.2 Minecraft?!!! Are you sure that the command won't do any harm, right?
Bty, what does that command do? Does it like reset the files to the local files Minecraft stores? If so, then yaaay!!! I just hope this will work. If it does, I thank you very much! I still thank you for trying to give me info that might fix my problem! :)))))))Oh yeah, by the way, my Minecraft isn't directly in the applications support for the whole computer. Mine is in a separate application support on my account files, not the whole computer overall, if you know what I mean. So the command won't work unless it's directed into my account files. I'll tell ya exactly where my Minecraft folder is.
All you have to do is that command, it will remove the files for you. Don't worry about the file location, as that does not matter. Just run the command, then run the game.

Keep giving any suggestions, if you have any. I entered the command, but the 1.5.2 didn't work, just froze. I probably will need a whole folder, but that isn't allowed. Oh well, what to do...

Try deleting .minecraft and rebooting the game.
Ok, listen here. I agree that OSX blows chunks. Hard.
IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE MENTIONED IN EVERY SINGLE EFFING TIME SOMEONE MENTIONS THEIR MAC

So you mean that I should delete everything in the Minecraft folder? Because if you are, I've already tried that.
