I play minecraft on a linux computer and tried to edit the splash text file. This caused Minecraft to crash whenever I logged in and tried to go to the title screen.
Does anyone know if there is a way to completely delete the .minecraft file? I know that if I completely delete Minecraft and reinstall it, that should fix the problem, but my computer is unable to find .minecraft using the file search function. I am only ever able to access .minecraft by opening the texture packs folder, which I cannot do now that Minecraft crashes before it reaches the main menu.
If you know a way to delete the .minecraft folder, or if you know anything else that could help, please let me know.
Open the Minecraft Launcher and click the 'Options' button above the Login button, and click Force Update. It will give you a brand new minecraft.jar with the orignal splashes and stuff.
