When i play minecraft, i only get about 20 fps (sometimes lower). I have tried many things like directing mc to java 64 bit, allocating more memory and installing optifine. But i still get low fps. could someone help me please!

Yup, Windows 8 isn't the best os for MC. It was designed more for a tablet/Nokia.

Is that a 2nd or 3rd gen i5?
If it's 3rd, then you most likely have HD 4000, if it's 2nd, then you have HD 3000.
Both of which aren't good for gaming. I wouldn't use Integrated GC.

OS has nothing to do with it. Windows 8 is faster than Windows 7 because it was built for tablets. If anything, using Windows 8 is an asset. Anyway, the Intel graphics is the problem. Intel graphics are the worst, barely can play anything and if you're on a laptop, there's nothing you can really do.
Good luck upgrading a laptop video card. Also bring your render distance to Normal, Short, or Tiny, set Chunk Loading to Multi-Core (Optifine), decrease the amount of chunk updates (also Optifine), set graphics to Fast, turn off Smooth Lighting, and enable Advanced OpenGL. It should hopefully bring your framerate up a bit, I too have the same issue with my crappy graphics card.
