I need serious help. I cannot play the game in my world anymore. I spent many hours in this world. A very deep chunk didnt load which was on my minecart track. My cart stopped dead and i am unable to get out of the cart. I restarted the game 3 times now and i keep starting on the stuck minecart. I cannot destroy the cart or right click to exit it. I tried F3+A to reload chunks, changing render distance, turning on/off open gl, turning on/off John Smith pack, but it wont load that chunk and i cannot move. What do i do?
I also downloaded nbt explorer and tried to change my current position, saved, but i keep starting at the bad chunk position on the cart. Restarting nbt shows the bad position as if im not changing or saving it, which i am. Im getting really really frustrated. This will be a collosal waste of my time if this world is lost. Is there any way to kill myself so i can spawn at my bed?
There is no alt+I option. No options show. I even highlighted the chunk and tried it. Nothing happens. You sure that is the right key combo? Do i need to do anything before using alt+I?
OMG it worked!!!! It was ctrl+I, not alt+I. It brought the chunk back to its original form. When i reloaded the game, I died cause i was still stuck inside the repaired chunk. Moving my location would not work with mcedit or explorer. And i lost the minecart track but thats no biggie. I just hope this doesnt mean my world is prone to chunk errors. I never had one before. Thanks for the tip on mcedit. Phew.... HUGE RELIEF!!
I hate to keep replying to my own post but a question arose from this error. If i copy and paste my level.dat file into a new folder, can i use it if my world becomes botched? Say i copy and save my file every night. If im playing someday and i see chunks are missing everywhere, if i copy/paste the saved level.dat into my world folder and overwrite the broken one, will the world be as i saved it?
