Hi, this is the first time I've ever needed help with minecraft giving me problems. Okay so recently I have upgraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7 (64) and now all of a sudden my sound isn't working... All sound I get is from breaking blocks, some mobs and flowing water, the rest of the sound is missing.
The fixes I have tried are:
pressing f3 and s at the same time
Renaming the OPENAL64.dll to OPENAL32.dll
Replacing the OPENAL with one I downloaded (this caused the game to have NO sound at all so i changed it back)
I have used google to find other fixes specific to what I'm experiencing, but everyone seems to be not getting any sound at all so that puts me in a unique position.
Welcome to the Forum.
Depending on your antiviruses/firewalls, Minecraft may (may not) be blocked. The sound files are always targeted by antiviruses.
Try letting Java (Javaw as well if you have it) through your antiviruses/firewalls and try pressing F3+S again.
Thanks for the reply. I dont have an antivirus and my firewall is off. Any suggestions?
