I tried to create a lan world for my sister to join but it didint even show up on her computer so i sent her the map and set the lan world on her computer and i couldent see it at all. It used to work everytime and if i try another computer other than mine she can join and stuff, im on a windows 8 with a wired connection and she is on a mac with a wireless connection btw.
I think I know the problem, the fact you are on wired connection and your sister is on wireless.
This means you are not directly connected, which LAN needs.
Try to both connect to either the wired connection or the wireless connection, it should work fine then.
is there any other way because before she got the mac i was on the mac she uses and she was on a wired windows computer
Well, I suppose you could try setting up a server, that way it does not matter what connection you're on, your sister could even be at somebody else's home whilst still playing with you. There are quite a few tutorials for this on the internet.
Though trust me, although it's fun to play with your friends on a server, it's not worth the trouble if you can use LAN instead.
So I'm going to have to disappoint you, LAN is only possible on the same connection.
Try to connect both computers to the same wireless network, that should do the trick!
i tried that but ik how to set up a server but i was only going to use that as a last resort but i guess ill set one up, thanks for answering anyway
snow golems... look so much better without a pumpkin
- Set static IP for each PC on u LAN.
- If u don't need it for other Programs use IPv4 instate IPv6.
Special for Minecraft:
- If u have en ave CPU Power or an extra PC/Laptop use the standalone Server instate the in-game Server.
