Since my computers free MacAfee is about to expire, my father saw fit to install ZoneAlarm as a replacement. However, just like on every other computer I've had, this has basically messed everything up. Minecraft no longer works, just like on my old computer. The error message is receive is as follows.
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occured. Program will exit.
I posted the same question a long time ago for my old computer, but no one really answered it. Has the answer to this problem been solved yet? Please help!

Attempt to uninstall all versions of Java present on the machine. Restart, then install the latest one here. Remember to install 64-bit Java if you are on a 64-bit machine, and vice versa for 32-bit. http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Thank you! I will try this as soon as possible and get back to you on whether or not it works.
