This is literally ridiculous, yet so frustrating at the same.
So a few days back, my minecraft started acting funny. I couldn't get, or move, items in chests, dipensers, my inventory, ect. I was running a few mods: Gulliver, which you needed to put its files in the minecraft.jar, and Derpy Squids and Animal Bikes, both of which needed to be placed in the Mods folder.
Then, after a few minutes after every time of playing, my minecraft crashed. I dont have the crash report, but it specifically pointed out MP server.
So I tried forcing update, but all I got in the middle of launching was
Failed to launch
Fatal error (4) occured:null
So I tried replacing my minecraft.zip. Same thing. I tried deleting my minecraft.zip and letting it reload. Same thing.
So i tried my last resort: deleting Minecraft and reinstalling it.
Same fricking thing.
Can someone PLEASE help me. I will really be screwed if I couldn't play minecraft agian on this PC.
So i have got McCafee, K9 web protection, and a few others. I've done something that lets you play offline, but its downgraded to when i was on 1.4.7. Whenever i try to play online so that i can re-update, it just sits there going "Logging in..."
So i have got McCafee, K9 web protection, and a few others.
Could help if you name them all. But you do not really need even 2 security programs, 1 is sufficient. More than 1 is likely to cause more harm than good. k9 web protection is known to block connections that Minecraft uses for login authentication as well.
i just figured out that McCafee and K9 Web Protection r the only 2 antivirus filters that I have. Again, whenever I try to update so I can play on servers and stuff, it says
Fatal error occurred (4): null
So do I delete 1 antivirus filer, or what?
And does blocking login authentication have to do with
Fatal error occurred (4): null?
I'm not familiar with either of those antivirus programs but you should be able to just disable them in their options then try installing again. I do recommend that you remove one of them. Having two antivirus programs they can conflict with each other and be worse than just having one.
Also don't forget firewalls/routers. If you have any firewalls besides the windows OS one either temporarily disable them or put exceptions in them for the minecraft.exe and javaw.exe(64bit). Not sure what the 32bit java execution file name is (might be java.exe but not sure).
Install Minecraft again or install either 1 or both of the anti virus filters?
Also, one of the problems ive ALWAYS had was javaw.exe staying there after I close minecraft
Ive figured out that javaw.exe stand for minecraft, but after I run a minecraft world or server, javaw.exe stays there in the task manager even when minecraft was off. So if I wanted to edit my .minecraft directory, I'd have to completely restart my computer.
Ive always been able to live with this, but does it have to do with anything now?

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
