Okay i'm new to this foruming business so don't screech at me if this is the wrong place to post this but, i'm having a problem.
I recently got a virus so I had to restore my computer to a new date. Ever since I did that the sound on Minecraft has not been working. Do any of you Minecraft smarties know how to fix this?
You better hurry up and scoot over to this forum, they should be able to help you fix any technical problems.
(BTW: If you are using mods, go to this forum, they should also be able to help)
EDIT: I should mention it is VERY important you only go to the first link if you do not have ANY mods installed, because mods can cause a myriad of problems, and the people in the unmodified support forum (the first link) will get quite huffy if they find out you are asking for help and you have mods installed.
Run a force update on Minecraft, it should fix it, unless Java was reverted when you did the System Restore, of which, you might want to update your Java as well.
The last time my sound stopped working like that it was 'cause my resources folder got wiped and the game needed to download all the sounds and stuff again.

Restoring to an earlier checkpoint on your computer does not rid you of the virus. It may correct some problems that it has caused temporarily, but virus removal 101 requires that you disable system restore while cleaning the virus. If you have not taken more steps besides rolling back to a restore point, you are going to have more problems.
