This issue has been haunting me for a long time to where I actually just did not notice it anymore. Anyway as I am playing minecraft certain sounds will not play, for example when I punch wood I do not hear a sound til it breaks. I also never hear music, EVER. My sound on my computer is all the way up, same in minecraft and I have no clue what to do.
The process of downloading the sound resources must have been blocked or filtered.
Disabling your antivirus or any similar program that may filter out connections, then remain in-game for at least 15 minutes for the sounds to be downloaded.
