I'm trying to download minecraft on a mac and when i download it says it is extracting and when i try playing it nothing happens, i check in application support to see if minecraft was in there and it wasnt. The minecraft just keeps jumping and then goes away, how do i fix this?
PLACES -> macusername(2nd tab in PLACES) -> Library - > Application Support
Once he gets to Application Support folder, he needs to paste minecraft.zip into it, after pasting that, double-click it to unzip, it should create a folder called "Minecraft"
Then he can start the launcher and play the game happily after entering his Username Password
If everything else fails: check "Force Update" and then login, it should download everything needed.
Make sure you've got the Minecraft Mac download from https://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/launcher/Minecraft.zip and unpack it into your /Applications folder. Here's a quick guide RaysoRb posted on the Yogscast Forums:

If you have, try redownloading it again. Perhaps the file was corrupted or something.
