Hello everybody, first off, I would like to say that I have been googling this error for quite some time, and have not found a solution that fits my computer. When I click on the Minecraft.exe on my desktop, it gives me an error that looks like this http://imgur.com/NOCcukR .
I have done the little work around by creating a batch file, and that works too, but I don't want to just work around it, I want to fix it, as I would like to play FTB off of there launcher, but cannot due to this, and Havn't found a work around for launchers.
Here is a screen of my specs: Windows XP Proffessional Version 2002 Service Pack 3 Intel Pentium D CPU 3.20GHz 3.12 GHz 2.99 GB of Ram I have Java 7 update 21 and have tried Java 7u13 and Java 6u45 or something like that. I have re installed java many times, tried reallocating ram to Java, and just keep coming up with this error. I am at a loss here at what to do, I just got this computer, and haven't had many problems with it I can't handle, but this one is just getting out of hand. I have 3G RAM, and when I am able to start minecraft with the batch file, it lags horribly in game. If anybody could help, or has experienced this same problem, I would really appreciate your comments and support. Thank you.

Please uninstall all versions of Java from your system through Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and then install the latest version from http://www.java.com/
If this doesn't help, you can use the Technic Launcher and do as Tedster says by grabbing it from http://technicpack.net/ and selecting Vanilla in the launcher.

I cannot even use the Technic Launcher, because I can't create a java virtaual machine! Just like I just stated in the above post, I don't want to use Technic, I want to play FTB but I need this issue with minecraft in general to get fixed, I've tried uninstalling java and reinstalling it, if you would read my first post you would know that, read the posts before telling me to do things I've already done!

Hello, I have this same problem and I followed your advice. I removed all version of Java but I have a question: I have this program called JavaFX 2.1.1. Do I remove that, too?
OK, now I did as previously instructed as well (I had to redo my computer and reinstall minecraft) I re downloaded java (3 times now - fully uninstalling the others) AND installed the Technic program and it still crashes - here is my crash report:

Yup, that would work...if I was playing on Technic...FTB, did I mention that? haha
