I recently created a parkour map in a completely empty superflat world - but when I tested and died, my spawn point was somehow changed to a random spot somewhere else. I have no idea where my map now is, which is a big problem because it took me a long time to do. Any ideas how to get back?

Well, you could solve this issue VERY easily if you created a small, local, Bukkit server for the map. DynMap, SetSpawn, etc, would all be great for your issue. However, if this is not something you'd like to do, simply turn your render distance up to "Extreme" with Optifine installed and have a look around! Your spawn point will never be near the far edges of a map. It will always be somewhat close to the center. Well, at least from my 2 years experience. If you need any help with installing anything, or even creating a Bukkit server, feel free to PM me.

I do not fear using my true name, or showing my face. Not because I am arrogant, but because I am no different on screen than I am in person. In all realities, my name is Kyle.
That's the problem I'm having, I tried setting my render distance to extreme and still couldn't find it. I don't want to have to install a bukkit server, and I can't find the blocks in MCEdit either.
Okay, after looking around and taking screenshots of my location so I didn't get lost in the void I eventually found my map. Although now I think of it, I didn't even try Chunk Mode, that probably would have helped a lot.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
