Whenever I try to launch minecraft, magic launcher, tekkit launcher, etc, an error message pops up titled: Launch4j
with the error:
This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0
If I press ok, it opens the java page to download java
(http://www.oracle.co...oads/index.html)
note that i already have java installed.
So I re-install and download the newest version of java, just to have the message continue to appear.
I check the message again and notice it says I need version 1.5.0, so i find a download for that specific version, install it, and it still doesnt work.
I also did the "Do I have java?" thing and it told me I have the latest version. (Your Java version: Version 7 Update 17)
But the thing is java programs still work on chrome, I can play minecraft using the minecraft.net website.
But why does this error message come up, and how can i fix it?
Hi,
Uninstall all versions of Java you have on your computer via Programs and Features (in Control Panel), then download the latest version of Java from http://java.com/
If your computer is running 64-bit, grab the 64-bit installer as well as the 32-bit version from http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Thanks! Ill try it, before I couldn't find any uninstall file, so I just decided i probably didn't have to, but on the website there is an uninstall tool.

I also don't know if I installed both versions...
Java has a habit of not uninstalling older versions of itself before updating to the newer version. It's simple to remove old versions via Programs and Features in Control Panel.

Yep, that worked. Thanks a TON!
