Hello all. I am having an issue with my new laptop. Minecraft was fine all day until just now. I have 2 Issues:
1. Objects/blocks that are a bit farther away have black outlines. I think they're called Artifacts? I also hear that they're typical on AMD GPUs. Is there anyway I can fix this? It's frustratingly distracting.
2. The V-Sync option doesn't seem to work. With the settings I use, I'm getting about 110fps average but with it comes atrocious screen tear. I enabled V-Sync in an attempt to cap it at 60fps but it's still giving me 100+fps and screen tear. How can I fix this?
Specs:
CPU: AMD A8-4500m Quad Core 2.8GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon 7640g (512mb dedicated RAM)
RAM: 4gb DDR3 1333
OS: Windows 8 64 Bit
Java: Version 7, 32 Bit

Well, I can't find the Catalyst Control Center. If I right click on the Desktop, I can go in to AMD Vision Engine Control Center, but I see nothing regarding V-Sync. The screen tear is getting on my nerves. Is there anything external I can get to fix it?
The Anisotropic filtering issue is gone though! But just so others know what I was talking about, here is a pic of it happening : (grid lines in the distance)
Sorry if it's hard to see, but there are basically grid lines in the distance.

Retired Staff2. Activate VSync from the Catalyst Control Center. To get there, gaming > 3D application settings > system settings > frame rate control
Please also install Java 64-bit as it may prove better performance.
