When I start to play minecraft, it works fine for a good few minutes. However, After a bit, the game starts to freeze for a few seconds and start again then freeze again. This process keeps repeating and I experience it everytime I launch minecraft. I could use some help because this really turns into an inconvinience. Thanks
This is called a Lag Spike. Can you give me your system information about your computer? If you can't, follow these steps:
Go to the Minecraft Launcher
Force Update your Minecraft
Go to Options
Go to Video Settings
Set Render Distance to either Small or Tiny.
Set All Particales to Minimum
If this did not work, please contact me. If you know how to install mods, install the mod OptiFine. There are tutorials online on how to install it. Hope this helped!

Change the 512 to 384.
Log in. Do you still experience lagspikes?

I was having the same issue. After about 5 minutes the game would lockup and closing it was a matter of hit ALT-F4 for a few minutes. Once I got the magic launcher and applied the fix the game acted normal. What exactly was causing it to freeze?
