I was playing in one of the worlds I created. I stopped and saved the game because the system was known to freeze, but once I relogged most times I could get back into my world I was in. The last crashed happened 4 May 2013 at 1010am EST. I had stopped and saved the game/world. When I tried to spawn my world again it would not. It showed the system was loading the terrain, but 2 minutes later it was back to the screen to select single or multiple player. I did a forced update and then rebooted my machine. I still cannot get the world to spawn, it continues to hang up at the terrain loading screen. System is AMD Phenom (II)x4 940 Processor MMx, 3DNow (4CPUs) 3.0 GHZ, 3200MB RAM, DirectX 9.0c, NVIDIA GeForce GT 640, and over 50 gigs of hard drive space left also. Not sure what is going on. I would like to keep the world because I have over 400 hours of work in the world.
Sorry as of now I think, the only way to save a "World" is to back up. I played minecraft for 5 hrs(Yes i know, I'm addictedd) I had my two let's plays worlds corrupt and i had to make new ones. The problem was as Minecraft was "Autosaving" The computer crashed, which led to the files being written completely lost/corrupt/"half-written"
Sorry but the world and your work is Gone
Unless there is a way I don't know
