I updated Minecraft today and now I am unable to log on to my servers because they are at version 1.5 or 1.5.1 Is there any way I can go back to the old version or am I stuck until the servers get updated?
Grab 1.5.1 from http://assets.minecraft.net/1_5_1/minecraft.jar and, assuming you're using Windows, rename the current minecraft.jar in %appdata%\.minecraft\bin and add the new one in there.
Head to your Minecraft folder, to get at Minecraft's locally stored files on a Mac, in the Finder, from the Go menu, select Home. Then open Library, Application Support. The folder you want is "minecraft".
Go into the "bin" folder
Delete the minecraft.jar that is present there.
Move the minecraft.jar you downloaded above to that folder
Run the game, and hit "no" when it asks you to update.

Retired StaffJust rename or delete the minecraft.jar you have just now and it should download the new one.
