I'm playing Minecraft since Alpha, before the implimentation of the half block. So I saw almost every kind of bug occur in the game.
And slowly, I'm more and more aware about a precise thing in chunk loading that can break any mini-games gameplay. It's not a bug. I think that it comes from the way the game is coded. But I'm not sure.
When moving in the world, sometimes I reach a precise point in the map where the loading creates huge lags. I have a very good PC and I know that it's not about that because 95% of the time, loading occur almost with no lag at all. Just tiny bits of lags, almost inperceptible for the eye. A normal game loading a map.
But at some precise places, always within a certain radius of the same points in the X,Y,Z coordinates, a MEGA lag occur. But so huge that I have to completely stop moving and wait for it to last or it becomes worst, sometimes almost completely freezing the game. The lag last between 5 and 30 seconds most of the time. But I had some of these lags that lasted 2 and 3 minutes.
I'm aware of this since I began to create huge megastructures, sometimes 200, 250 blocks large and more.
Sometimes I can wonder almost endlessely in a world and it will never happend anywhere. But when it does, when we pass this point when moving, it creates a mega lag. It can happen when moving horizontally, but also vertically. Like if at this X,Y,Z point was 6 lines in all directions making a kind of limit. And when we pass through this precise kind of limit within a certain radius of the point, the chunk loading takes a huge part of the memory. The lag acts exactly like a chunk loading in Minecraft.
Sounds like somwher near this point was an Enteti overlord or a litte chunk error.
Have u try if the problem cam up on ather maps?
If ather maps run smoth use MCEdit and look around fore the Enteti overlord (Massive red marks).
Or upload u map somwher and give the linke, we will look for it. .-)
Thanks, I'll check that and I will give you feedback.
Ritter_Kaldor, it happens in other maps too, but not everyone of them.
And I remember something that might be useful to tell: In my boat parkour, I had a point like that. And I copied the thing into another world to separate it from the rest of what I builded there and give it to download in Planet Minecraft. And in the other world, the lag did'nt occur... but in another place in the race.
Finally I McEdit-checked and no mass entities.
So I'll check Optifine. It's a mod that only upgrade the performances? Because I'm currently building a complete RPG in vanilla creative with the help of no mods. But a performance mod is another thing.
