I play Minecraft mostly at night when I have no internet connection and since the new Dev launcher doesn't have the ability to allow users to play offline how can I use the newest snapshots without having to use the launcher. I tried downloading the .jar and renaming it to minecraft.jar, but that doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
Welcome to the Forum.
I think you'll need to use the normal launcher.
I'm curious: why don't you have internet access at night?
Please quote me when replying.
I actually work at night and I play on my laptop which at the moment doesn't have internet access. When I download the jar how do I get the normal launcher to load it?
I'm a bit confused but from what I understand, you don't.
Or you use MultiMC, I think that will suit your needs.
I want to play Minecraft with the latest snapshot, but it uses the launcher which doesn't have an option to play offline. I want to know if there is a way I can download the latest snapshot and use the normal launcher to play it. I attempted to download the .jar file rename it minecraft.jar and place it in the bin directory but it gives me errors.
I believe MultiMC allows you to choose the version of MInecraft.
The same error that happens with the old launcher, a cracked launcher, MagicLauncher, and even some batch files I made to start up the game happens with MultiMC.

It looks like we can't use any other launcher unless someone mods the snapshot .jars. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I guess that means they ARE going to implement an offline mode again, we just have to wait.
