After days and days of searching I have come to the conclusion that there is no current solution for the incompatibility with many Win 8 computers and Minecraft. However, my issue now is how Mojang KNEW that this problem would occur quite frequently and provided me no warning upon the purchasing of their product, A simple warning such as "Minecraft may not work on computers running Windows 8" would have sufficed. Now I'm stuck with a nearly $30 game on my Desktop that I can't even play. Seeing as how refunds are NEVER possible in a capatilist, money-hoarding country such as this one, I think something else should be done, like....idk FIX THE PROBLEM!?
My drivers are up-to-date.
I've tried over 3 other drivers, including some weird Vista driver that supposedly fixed this issue.
Java is up-to-date.
I've re-downloaded Minecraft over 3 times.
I've Forced Updated.
I've updated LWJGL.
I've searched for hours on youtube and google trying to find SOME solution to this problem only to find countless other people with the same problem.
I don't care if you're using Windows 8 and it works for you. Cool. There is more people for whom it doesn't work.
I'm not trolling, I may be a little frustrated but that is to be expected with the way Mojang handled (or didn't) this. They KNEW that many computers using Win 8 wouldn't support Minecraft and yet they provided no warning at all. Buying a new computer is not an answer at all, I'm not spending any more money than I already have to play this game. I have it on Xbox so I'll just have to stick with it there. I placed a request for a full refund (no reply yet, of course) and hopefully they'll give me one. Crazy how I liked the game so much I was willing to buy it on 2 different platforms and support Mojang yet I get NO help at all.

As was mentioned above, it's not Mojangs fault if Microsoft comes out with a new OS and hardware manufacturers don't create a compatible driver for the OS nor is it their fault if the PC user isn't competent enough to find a driver that is.
We have three main scenarios in this help forum related to Windows8:
Video drivers that don't support Windows 8 well
Owners who aren't computer savvy enough to update their drivers
People who upgraded an older computer to Windows8 and their video hardware is old enough the manufacturer isn't going to release a win8 driver.

Which one are you?
I'm nether. I have an AMD Radeon 7990 I recently updated to the 13.11 Beta drivers. I still get white screen. On my Win7, no problems.
Even thought this guy MIGHT be a troll, I have a very easy answer. Buy a new computer. That may not make any sense, but as you can play Minecraft from any computer without rebuying, it may be an answer.
Buy a $300+ computer just to play a $30 game.
Are you for reals?

Most people do appear to be able to get such a driver from their video card manufacturer, except for those whose cards have no Windows 8 support.

I think you're just whining and trolling for something. It is entirely you and your computer and how you're handling it.
