i have been playing minecraft for a while thinking my comptuer is really bad. I have optfine and alaways play on fast, short, smooth lighting 0% and I don't lag or crash. When I put on normal I didn't lag but I crashed every 10 minutes, my comptuer has 4 gigs of ram and I put for gigs of memoery I crashed less often but still crashed. Is there another way to fix it?
i used to have a problem similar, try to delete your .minecraft folder completely, including saves just to be safe that it's not the saves, then redownload minecraft using the launcher. if that doesn't work then try to allocate memory to Minecraft by creating a new text document, typing in it
java -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -jar "Minecraft.exe"
then go to save as and on file type put all files then name it whatever you want but at the end put .bat, then it should turn into a batch file. click on the batch file and run it, it should work correctly. if you want to know more on how to allocate memory go here: http://muttsworldmine.com/forums/topic/136-allocate-more-memory-to-minecraft/

Sorry for bad grammer
Use 64 bit java and allocate at least 1GB RAM to java.
I got 64 bit java and I put more memory In minecraft
Are you using a texture pack? Mods? You need to patch minecraft using MCPatcher to be able to support some of those things without the Out of Memory error.
