Hello, I recently upgraded my computer and ever since I've been having memory issues with Minecraft. I have these issues with no other games, and optifine provides very little improvement, if any noticeable at all.
I use Magic Launcher to allocate 2x more RAM to the game, yet still the same issue.
So yeah, I'm fairly confident it's not my computer, as I experience no issues with any other games (Skyrim (Ultra graphics pack), Warframe, Mirror's Edge, WoW, Trials: Gold, Tomb Raider, GTA 4(Modded graphics) all on max settings.
If anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.
If I recall there are some instances where the version of java installed can help cause that.
Try uninstalling java, and install the 1.6 version of it. If your operating system is 64bit. Be sure to install both 32bit and 64bit versions. Once thats done. Please restart your computer and see if the issue still continues.
If you can, could you please post any error logs as well here for us to take a look at.
Take care!

I see, I'm currently browsing their site for the 1.6 download now, after I find it I'll be sure to try it out. Is there any particular reason why I must revert back to 1.6? I'm assuming that's a much older version than the current one.
I don't really care, but just curious.
Edit: Installed the J7U21 Java, which I already deleted off my computer, then I downloaded jre 6u45, and I haven't had the memory issue since.

Note: seems to happen when I fly more frequently.

Retired StaffThe reason I suggested 1.6 is 1.7 has a lot of security issues at the moment that still have yet to be fixed.
Oh, I see. Thanks for helping.
