Every time i attempt to launch any snapshot with the new launcher it sits there and then gives me an error saying "Game ended with bad state (exit code -1073740777)". Anyone have any ideas?
*After some digging i was able to get this "Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.Main"
There are known issues with the new launcher. So it might just be due to the fact it's still a work in progress.
As Hatman123466 has asked, can you play the 1.5.1 version? Try with old launcher though.
i can play 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 only the snapshots 13w16a, 13w16b, and 13w17a can not be played. as they all produce the "Game ended with bad state (exit code -1073740777)" error. My little sisters computer launches them just fine, even tried copying her .Minecraft folder to try on my computer didn't work though.
Ok someone gotta have something. Been digging more and was able to pull this error out.
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/client/Main

along with
"Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.Main"
I've tried Java 7 and 6 both 32 and 64 bit versions none will launch the game.
Well you could try a full reinstall by removing all files and folders in the .minecraft folder except for your saves. Then redownload everything with the launcher and try. Other than that, Im not sure. Sounds like something with the snapshots is iffy with your computer.

tried but was met with no success. I've pretty much exhausted everything i can think of. I have no idea what could be so different in the snapshot that causes it to not launch since 1.5.2 can launch.
It's possible that this is the way that the new launcher will error out when it fails to download the game files.
For the launcher not to find the main class is a sign that the jar file is missing/corrupt/wrong.
So it's possible that you might need to add the new launcher to whatever whitelists you have for your security software. Did you have to minecraft to any 'allowed' lists in the past to allow it to update? If so you'll need to do the same for the new launcher.
