im trying to download MC for the very first time on my macbook pro. ive played the game before but never on a pc/mac before and i really want to jump in and have fun with it.
the issue i am having is that after i downloaded the zip file and opened it after fixing my security settings i tried to login and it gave me a message that said "login failed" my login information is up to date and correct as well as my java, etc.
ive never downloaded this game before, i have no mods messing it up or anything. im just trying to login to the launcher and be able to download it.

Do you have any firewalls/antiviruses that could be interfering with the launcher?
Have you tried the .jar launcher?
