Help! I have had this problem for a while now ever since I got this new laptop. I try to download the Minecraft client but I keep getting an error that say:

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I tried to uninstall & reinstall Java but it still would not download. And it can't be my laptop since this is a $2200 laptop.

Please help! I'm not that good with problems like this! =( I will provide any information if needed.

Nevermind, I fixed the problem by looking it up on Youtube.com.

I am having the same problem on my computer as well. I have searched youtube and sort of found a fix but it doesn't fix it completely. The fix I found was to click on the start button, right click on computer and select properties, click on advanced tab, under performance section click on settings, then click on Data Execution Prevention tab, click on "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:" then click on Add... and add minecraft then click apply.


After I had done all of that, I clicked on minecraft and it worked! But... the problem is Minecraft doesn't work when i have anything else open. Safari Internet browser for example. I was watching a minecraft tutorial on Youtube and went to open up minecraft and i got the error again. "Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit."

Does anybody know of a permanent fix for this?Also, my computer specs are...

Dell XPS m1530

2.5GHz Intel Centrino processor

4gb RAM

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

Hard Drive is 300gb with only 37gb being currently used

Check if you have a browser extension called BrowserProtect, and if so, remove it. Definitely worth checking this if Ryuug's suggestion above makes a difference.
