Okay, so I started having this problem yesterday, where the Pause menu sporadically appeared during gameplay. I'm going through browser (IE, UGH! ), so I know it's not a client problem. I've tried all the fixes I've seen so far, updating and re-installing Java and Flash, and turning my video settings WAY down low. Even made sure my esc key wasn't stuck. But now, it's happening constantly, (It appears to be caused by left clicking, especially when mining) and making Minecraft practically unplayable. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Minecraft does not use Adobe Flash.
I would suggest anything other than IE, but in this case that is not the issue. You are playing in the browser, so are you playing the demo? It would be a known issue has I have experienced such when attempting to play the game via the browser. I would suggest updating LWJGL.

Though I would highly recommend you download and play through the standalone launcher instead, it has less buggy issues.
