When I am in Minecraft, no matter in Single Player or Multi Player, MC always maxes out at 30 FPS or 60 FPS. 60 FPS would be just fine for me, in fact I would not want it any higher as it would fry my graphics card. However it seems to switch between having a max FPS of 30, or 60. So at almost all times my FPS rate is about 55 - 60 FPS or 25 - 30 FPS. Whats causing it to think the max FPS is 30 instead of 60? Even turning VSync off and Max FPS on, it still sticks with either a max of 30 or 60. Even without a single program running on my computer, it can still get the 30 FPS max. I know my computer can easily handle 60 FPS, in fact one time when I loaded MC, I was getting a max FPS of about 400, not sure exactually how I got that, but it changed back to 30 after reopening the application. Is anyone else having a similar problem? I am using OptiFine, however the exact same issues occur on the standard MC without changing any of the Video Settings.
Certain areas of Minecraft tend to be a bit more laggy than others. With Multiplayer, it can be expected, especially on small servers. I tend to experience that kind of FPS change in Taiga biomes. Here are my suggestions (some of which you may have already done, but combining them all helps the most for me and for most)
-Turn your Graphics from Fancy to Fast
-Turn VSync On
-Turn AdvancedOpenGL On
-Turn your Performance to Max FPS
-Turn Particles down to Minimal
-Turn your Render Distance down to Normal (since you already get a pretty "average" FPS, with 60 being on par for most people and 30 being fairly under-par)
-Make sure Optifine is still installed and works correctly.
-Make sure your Java is up-to-date.
If none of this works, then it may just be that your graphics card or your computer can't seem to pull a constant FPS of at least 60. Even if it's up-to-date, try force-updating your Java. Make sure, if you're using a Texture Pack, that your computer can handle whatever size your Texture Pack is. Also, make sure it can handle whatever other mods you may have installed, and make sure you aren't doing anything on a 32-bit Java that's only meant to be done on a 64-bit Java. If none of this works, then it's probably something that has to do with your computer's hardware.
Same problem here i have Optifine 1.5.2 ultra installed using the magic launcher and I still have the consistant 60fps with my setting optimized, and yes I have added more ram to my mc ive got it at 2048 so i dont know whats the problem, i need to figure this out so any help would be apreciated,
Thanks,
