I have a big map that I used MCEdit to help me make. But my client is not modified so I believe this belongs here.
Anyway, there's an area of map that will crash the game when being rendered. I have even tried deleting this entire area in MCEdit using the Chunk Management (so I deleted all the chunks in the entire general area) but it's just re-created by Minecraft naturally and crashes the game again.
It's also doing this in server mode. If I use my other computer to host this map in a server and play it from my computer, the server will crash.
I didn't want to have to come here but it appears that I can't get any work-around about this.
I have included all the crashes I have ever had in that folder. The ones from today and yesterday are the ones that you should look at.However, I just provided them all just in case they give any more clues or show anything that might be helpful.
Thanks!
Edit: Seeing as the error report mentions potatoes I tried deleted these potato fields but the error continues to happen. I tried reinstalling Minecraft 1.5.1 fresh to no avail. There seems to be no way to fix this that I can find.
Also, sorry for having the crash report uploaded elsewhere, but the report is too long to post here.
Bump (because this post is now buried) and question : Is it a bad idea to add schematics to areas that have no yet been rendered, or does it matter?
Because if so, then that might be part of what's caused these areas. I threw a lot of schematics down into unrendered areas when putting this thing together, assuming it would be fine and the generator would get around it.
By "unrendered" I mean places that I haven't adventured into and the Minecraft generator has not generated anything there yet. So in MCEdit it's labled as "Chunk Not Present". A lot of my schematics I just threw into empty chunks close to my center because trying to load all of the base area in Minecraft first would take forever.
The map is huge and would take forever to upload from where I live (China), and the upload would likely be interrupted (as always). Sorry, it's a regional issue. China's internet still totally sucks and is completely unpredictable and unstable in international connections (which are heavily throttled and sometimes they'll reset your connection randomly).
You probably see it as a modified client because I was using Optifine, but even after a clean install it still has the problem.
I've actually gone back to my roots to fix the problem. I was throwing tons of Schematics onto what was originally someone else's map, and toyed with generator settings (changing it from flat or normal by using NBTExplorer to manually edit the level.dat) etc. It should have been predicted that screwing around with so many things and throwing together so many schematics would probably cause errors in the long run.
So what I've done this time is...
1) Choose a seed and start a new game with SETTINGS I ACTUALLY WANT TO KEEP.
2) Fly around and render some of the original world in Minecraft.
3) NOW I use MCEdit 1.6 to add some of the Schematics I want, and use Chunk Align.
4) Don't screw with the level.dat anymore.
Something tells me it was probably changing the generator from Flat to Default after already playing the game quite a bit that may have screwed it up. That and many of the schematics I imported were originally from pre-1.5 version of Minecraft that had to be converted first.
All in all, what I did was a complicated fest of throwing maps together. I took like 10 huge cities, pruned off the unimportant stuff, and then just copied them into schematics and imported them onto my map. Most of the schematics I used were between 10,000 and 50,000KB. The final product was a 100MB map file. I think I was probably just doing way too much. I later found that the game crashed in more than just that area. There were several areas in the map that caused the game to crash when rendered.
Anyway, if I have any more problems I'll see if that guy you linked to can help. I'm hoping that this new map doesn't have any problems in development.
My server is currently up and running on just what I made myself with my friend. If anyone want's to check it out, it's at 114.217.206.152, but there's not much interesting in my opinion. It's just running on a few bare things while I use my other computer to work on the map. And it's in China, so a good connection most definitely can't be promised.
