I downloaded a large texture pack and Minecraft Crashed. I was able to fix it on the PC, but can't figure out how to fix it on my Mac which I haven't had as long. Can someone help me please...much appreciation!
Texture packs are very simple to get rid of, I'm kind of surprised that a texture pack even caused a crash.
Before you install anymore texture packs make sure they're updated for Minecraft 1.5 as the 1.5 patch changed the format of texture packs.
To remove the pack on a Mac, open Finder and navigate to
Library > Application Support > minecraft > textutepacks
You can delete the texture pack from there.
Let me know if all goes well.
Thank you both so much for your help. We did have to type it in the Go menu, and were finally able to access it and delete it....much appreciate! It must have been the size because it crashed both the Mac & the PC. I think it was called photo realism....
My backslash key doesn't work so I typed it out that way. I'm not insanely familiar with Macs so I was assuming you could just navigate to it without using the go menu.

As for you superkidjp I'm glad you got the pack deleted.
When you download a high resolution pack like Photo Realism, you probably should look into patching your game using MCPatcher. Even though Minecraft "officially" supports hi-res packs now, MCPatcher can really work out some kinks in your jar folder that can cause your game to crash.
I also think Photo Realism needs the Optifine mod to run. I'm really not sure though don't take my word on it, but that could have been a problem. I'm not so much into the really detailed packs.
For future reference, use MCPatcher when you're installing an HD texture pack.
