Alright well sorry for repost, but i accidently posted in "Survival Mode" Thread, and not the support, and still never got an answer since, so moderators feel free to remove my last one,

Anyway, so you don't know how annoying it was, when i first made my XP mob grinder standing too close to it, making creepers explode and having to find the hoppers and rebuild it, sometimes losing the hoppers. I dealt with it, and even found a fix (making it so pistons push them closer and i could only stand out of creeper's reach), So that was that. However, now, randomly the creepers would explode. Very rarely, but they would. So i was like maybe im doing something wrong? so i stood 5 blocks away, switched to easy, and went afk (Lan so game was still going), Then all the sudden 2 and a half mins later i hear a SSSSS and i go back, right as it exploded. this happened again, so why? Is it that a skeleton shot it? Or is it a bug? Too many mobs? Help me out i've lost about 8 hoppers and pistons i've yet to find!

Also, this is a 2x2 xp farm, and i don't let like 100 mobs mash up, just a reasonable amount, and last time it occured there were only 8 in there, and sometimes i can go with about 60 entities without them exploding.

you say you are on lan is there other people playing with you if so they may be causing you grief by playing jokes on you by doing this

no.. i don't always play on lan for one, it still occurs during single player, and for two i don't play mc with anybody except when 2 of my friends and that's only when they come over. i put it on lan so then the mobs are dropping while im afk

You need to stand under their feet with blocks blocking their heads so they can't see you. Otherwise they'll BOOM atcha.

i have this done, but like i said, sometimes im 5-8 blocks away from them and they still explode.

Still no reply, can somebody help me out? Just happened again and i'm sick and tired of it.

I haven't messed with a gravity trap since 1.5 came out. I'll mess around with this tonight and see if they truly just explode now even while passive.

My GF and i have an big Mop Grinder with high falling (60 to 80 Blocks falling for creepers) and we dont have this Problem,
can u upload u map that we can test if its work for other without problems?

Btw, what server u use (vanilla, bukkit, ...)
if its bukkit witch plugin (addon) u use?

noooo it's a XP Farm, meaning they fall and take 1 punch with ax to kill instantly. But yeah they sometimes explode when im 4-10 blocks away. ALmost just happened Yet Again, but i quickly switched to peaceful, and i'm playing Vanilla, Singleplayer.
