I see that launcher4j errors abound here and I've browsed many types of solutions posed to fix these errors, however, mine still isn't solved.
I'm running Minecraft 1.5.1
I'm running WinXp minecraft. I've gone to my control panel to uninstall all versions of Java I can see. I've re-installed it 2x. I'm currently running java version 7 update 21 and I still get this launch4j msg. My minecraft also isnt listed on my harddrive in the programs menu. I've been playing it off of a shortcut from my Mydownloads folder. It's no where else on my system. Not in control panel & not in C:\ so I can't physically access the program to acces it's coding if need be.
I was able to play Minecraft initially, however a few days ago ( and I don't know if this is the reason but everything went to pot after ) I buoght a new montior for my PC and loaded the installion disc. It had me load my WinXp home ed. disc as well to finish. Then trying to play minecraft immediately after off of my desktop and I've had this launcher4j error ever since. Launcher4j errors that don't solve.
I have loaded and re-loaded Oracle's Java versions. I just recently loaded Sun Microsystem's verison of Java VM version 6.0.43. I've used various programs to delete as thouroughly as possible ( including a program that takes all Hkey root pieces and registry pieces of java out for as clean of an uninstall as possible. I went to %appdata% to find the dotminecraft file and reloaded it. I've even gone to system restore ( kinda knowing that wouldn't work ) and I wasnt surprised. I found the better Minecraft.jar and as best as I can tried it. Nothing works.
Worse yet I found the Minecraftdar.jar fix solution thru Linux for Windows users and I got this ending post when I ran the program to start minecraft that even the .jar program crashed:
Client> Error occurred during initialization of VM
Client> Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Client> Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Client> Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Any ideas where I can run minecraft off of my desktop again and get rid of this blasted launch4j error???
Ive Had this exact problem for a week now look up on google this is what came up. I have also made several attempts at re installing java. Have you had any developments since April 20 lol.
I have not had a problem w/ launch4j in a long time. There has been a few new java versions installed as well as a few different new minecraft version updates. However, my computer place I took my system to said I had a virus that was f&*%ing things up. I had to take my PC to get it fixed cause my MSOutlook e-mail stopped working altogether. It just uped and died overnight... I was running WinXP. I had to upgrade my OS and am now comfortably running Win7 w/ good results.
