Hey, guys. I've just randomly been timing out of servers lately in the past few days, and I have no idea why. I'll log in to a server, and the connection will be OK, and then suddenly everything freezes, I can't interact with blocks and players freeze. Eventually, I get the error message stated in the title. I have no idea why this is a problem for me because my connection used to be excellent to pretty much every server.
According to a test I just ran using speedtest.net, my speeds are: Download: 24.81mb/s Upload: 1.84mb/s Ping: 26ms
I remember just maybe two weeks ago that my internet speed was: Download: approximately 30mb/s Upload: approximately 3mb/s Ping: about the same at 26ms
I have no idea why I am having this issue all of a sudden. It's been random. I've tried resetting my router and modem and this problem still occurs. I am running Win8 on my PC and I therefore have a 32-bit version of the latest Java.
My PC Specs:
-Core i5 3570k Turbo CPU
-Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 GPU
- 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black HDD
- 120 GB Samsung 840 Series SSD
- 8GB RAM
- Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H Mobo
- Antec High Current Gamer 620WW Bronze Certified
I have no doubt my PC is powerful enough, but why all of the sudden am I lagging out of servers? Everything was perfect just a week ago. Thanks for your help, everyone.
Did anyone ever find a fix for this issue? I have the same model motherboard as OP.
Could it have something to do with the Z77 chipset? I have tried literally everything, fresh installs, different NICs, different cables, both 32 and 64 bit fresh installs of Java and Windows w/out any firewall or antivirus software running (windows firewall disabled too).
My GF can play fine on her machine on the same server, which rules out my net connection and modem/router.
Perhaps if anyone has this issue and they have a Z77 motherboard they could post here and we can look for a resolution together.

Ok, interesting.... Anyone else who is having this problem have a Z77 chipset? That's 3 of us.
Also, I forgot to mention above that I have reinstalled minecraft from scratch in all of my testing iterations with fresh windows/java etc. Totally vanilla minecraft (no mods).
I have tried both Java 6 and 7, with all of these too.

Didn't seem to do much :/
