I have been playing minecraft for a while now. I have been playing Shotbow's Wasted server recently and have gotten angry that my chunks wont load in front of me and my computer doesn't show people until they get 2 chunks close to me. When I say the chunks won't load, I mean there is only 2-3 chunks in front of me. Is there a option to make it load farther? Any options is the Optifine mod? Please open these spoilers to see what I mean:
Please help me on this, I really want to see further.
Either:
1) The server's chunk load distance is low. Unless if you have access to the server's server.properties this will not be fixable by you.
2) You've set OptiFine to a low render distance and turned fog off.
Please try without OptiFine.

I set the render distance to far and fog to fast with optifine, It only extended it to 4 chunks. The mobs also still disappear if im 1 chunk away with optifine. In Minecraft with no optifine, I have it set to far, the chunks DO keep loading. Only one problem, it takes about 15 seconds to load 1 chunk, which is very slow. I also get a lot of lag and I want things in fancy, 3D items for example. Is it my graphic card, RAM, or my CPU? Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics RAM: 5.9 available CPU: AMD Athlon™ II X4 630 Processor, 2.8 GHz OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Is your motherboard an ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3?
If it is then I'd say that it's worth getting a graphics card.
How fast is your internet connection?
How do I check what my motherboard is? I get around 25 download Mbps and only 3 Mbps for my upload. I recently have been trying to play on server but when im on one, it takes about a minute for a frame (AKA Un-playable). It doesn't freeze like that on singleplayer though. I actually have been dieing to get a laptop for myself. I like to use Can You Run It for games that I want to see if I can run. Most games I can't because of my horrible graphics card. It says minecraft is fast but I only get around 30 fps usually. So when I go looking for laptops, i'll bring up that website and pick a game like Bioshock (Getting completely off-topic).
I am having the exact same problem.
Before you ask, my internet is fantastic and I use a $1500 gaming computer.
I don't believe this is a hardware or internet problem. Maybe some kind of setting or the like is causing it.
