I downloaded the MinecraftDev.exe file today, tried to open it and this is what comes up every time:
Bootstrap started
Looking for update
Downloading: https://s3.amazonaws...ncher.pack.lzma
Got reply in: 1555ms
No update found.
Reversing LZMA on C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.pack.lzma to C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.pack
Unpacking C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.pack to C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.jar
Cleaning up C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.pack
Starting launcher.
FATAL ERROR: net.minecraft.bootstrap.FatalBootstrapError: Unable to start: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
at net.minecraft.bootstrap.Bootstrap.startLauncher(Bootstrap.java:227)
at net.minecraft.bootstrap.Bootstrap.execute(Bootstrap.java:111)

Please fix the error and restart.
Any ideas as to what the issue is and how to fix it?
EDIT: I've tried with a completely clean .minecraft folder and that doesn't work, and trying to launch the launcher.jar in the .minecraft folder directly does nothing
have you tried the linux launcher? seems to work better for me, the anti-virus plays nicer with the linux version too. Linux launcher is just the .jar launcher, its java... so yeah...
Redpower 2, Industrial Craft 2, Buildcraft, Forestry, Extra Bees, Logic Pipes, EnderChests, IronChests, Thermal Expansion, Teleport pipes, and the must have ComputerCraft

Exactly the same problem. It seems to be the launcher.jar that gets made in .minecraft doesn't want to work
Redpower 2, Industrial Craft 2, Buildcraft, Forestry, Extra Bees, Logic Pipes, EnderChests, IronChests, Thermal Expansion, Teleport pipes, and the must have ComputerCraft
If the problem persists, it may be a corrupted Java install, please uninstall all versions of Java present on the machine, then grab the latest one here. http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
EDIT: Just figured out it doesn't like custom windows themes (as in UxStyle themes). Now that I've gone back to the generic Windows 7 theme, it works fine
