I've been having very severe freezing of block updates, mob movement, and entity activity, followed by large rollbacks in my case. At random intervals, mobs will stop moving, blocks will break but not drop any items, any items already on the ground won't be picked up, among other things involving updates. Afterwards, the clock will rollback to the time when the lag spike started [the worst one was the last, where it went all the way back from noon to sometime at night]. Blocks that were broken will come back, ones that were placed vary on whether they stay placed or go back to the inventory. Animals will resume their lives as per usual.
Frustration levels at their maximum, due to mining or breaking things, only to be rolled back like a minute, or having to wait for lag to pass because no items are dropping. Is there no fix for this or do I have to just live with it? The length of some of these lag spikes is getting ridiculous.
Is Your Computer good Enough for Running a server and playing minecraft if so check your internet
Have You Tried Allocating more ram to your client & server
I'm playing single player. I mean I realize SSP works like SMP now, but do I really need to be able to run a server to just play single player? That'd be silly.

Also I don't know how to change RAM allocation.
