I downloaded minecraft on my windows laptop and if I click don't update, it doesn't load all the way and when I click update, it gets stuck on the lwjgl.jar file. help!!
Open your .minecraft folder* and delete the bin folder, then start minecraft and it should auto-download and install the new files.
*(click start, type %appdata% in the search box, click Roaming folder that appears, open .minecraft folder)
If it still has a problem then you will have to do more, but try that first.
Delete the entire .minecraft folder, if you have any saved worlds make a copy of the saves folder to your desktop first.
Turn off/disable your anti-virus program, people have been having trouble with their anti-virus blocking the download without notification (especially AVG).
Try starting minecraft again, it should download.
Don't forget to turn your anti-virus back on before going online again.
Do I look like a mod? If they moved non-discussion threads instead of leaving them lay I would agree 100% but they rarely do for whatever reason, so here we are. *shrugs*
