Okay, first of all I hope I put this in the right section of the forum.. Not sure what to classify this as.
So my problem is thus:
The graphics card on this laptop is rubbish. I recently broke one of my other 4 laptops, the one I normally use, and so I'm waiting on my Alienware X51 to be mailed to me. While I was waiting I decided to mess around with MC on the other laptops, this laptop having the best RAM and such, excluding the graphics card, I decided to try it. After trying to run MC with internet I get this error:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Okay, no big deal, I can play on my other laptops but just for the heck of it I turned off my internet and loaded the game. Worked perfectly fine, no graphic glitches, no lag, nothing. So what would cause it to work without internet but not with? My assumption is that by turning on the internet MC checks certain things to make sure you can actually run the game, and while it's checking it encounters an error that doesn't actually stop the game from working but as a precaution it stops the game. Best way to fix this or should I just say screw it? I've already checked the extremely crappy graphics card for updates and there aren't any.. Soo.. Yeah :S
Thanks,
- Infinity
EDIT: FIXED
I lowered the hardware acceleration so it disabled DirectX and 3DDraw, not sure how it works without those enabled but whatever.
