This issue is driving me crazy. While recording minecraft I will start off with 80-100fps, then after about a minute of gameplay my FPS will drop to 8-14fps for a few minutes, then jump back up to around 100fps, then repeat. It's like a constant loop going from 100fps to 8 fps.
I run my W7 OS & game on a SSD, and record to an internal WD Black 7200rpm HD.
I even reset my overclocked processor to factory settings, and still have the same problem.
This does not happen on any other game. Only Minecraft.
My computer specs:
i7 920 quad core 3.6ghz
12gb RAM
GTX 285 2gb
250gb SSD
1tb WD Black 7200 HD
Minecraft is already a very CPU intensive game, as are most screen capture softwares such as FRAPS, and therefore more graphics card based games (such as Battlefield 3) will not encounter this issue. The problem could also be that you have your recording software trying to record at a framerate that perhaps your CPU or HDD can handle.
First, try lowering the recording framerate, and then come back and tell me is your situation has improved. If not, it may be time to update your hardware.

I tried recording at 24fps & 15fps, and still had the same issue. I also lowered the resolution to 720p, and still the same problem.

I had both installed. I uninstalled both, and then only installed 64-bit Java. Still the same problem.

None of the ML download links work? Is there somewhere else I can get it?
It's reaching 88 degrees C, max.
