So I tried everything and now I'm ed off to hell the only thing that will close javaw.exe after closing minecraft is restarting I don't want to restart my computer again I had to do this twice I was trying to speed up minecraft by updating lwigl and update optifine from B2 to B3 but it keeps saying that it can't delete files or do anything cuz java is open does anyone know a program I can use to KILL javaw.exe since task manger won't work I do have mods but I don't think it has anything to do with the mods I'm using I closed minecraft by pressing quit not by pressing the red X I was also running minecraft from a batch file if that helps should I give a dxdiag report? not really sure what the hardware would have to do with it....
By the way your problems sounds...it would seem you don't have an admin account on your computer. If so then try restarting your computer. Then try to back up your Minecraft jar and try a force update. List these mods you downloaded. Also please tell me how much ram you have on your computer. (This would be better answered on the modded client forum.)

Please explain the problem more clearly. Are you getting error/black screen on startup? Are you lagging? And what exactly were you trying to do in Task Manager.

I don't know if it's related, but for the last 30 minutes, I haven't been able to login to any of our servers. We have several at beastnode, one on a private dedicated server. I was getting this kind of stuff:
10:39:10 AM CONSOLE: [INFO] Disconnecting Denmasters [/{snipped for security}:51343]: Failed to verify username! [internal error java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 503 for URL: http://session.minec...rverId={snipped for security}]
I restarted McMyAdmin at least 20 times (this being the private dedicated one), all to no avail. It would either give me that error, or say I took too long to login. My startup looks relatively normal with one exception. After a restart or Stop and Start, this is the last line of the login process 10:44:38 AM CONSOLE: [INFO] /127.0.0.1:56801 lost connection
No idea what it means, google search shows it to be a sql disconnect string, only I'm not using it, that I'm aware of at least.

No Black screen on startup no lagg and I was trying to kill javaw.exe from task Manger but it's stuck no matter what I do it's always stuck it won't end and when ever I try to install mods/do anything it says java is open please close it bah bah bah I can fix it by restarting but I wanted to know if there's another way I don't want to restart each and every time I install mods

In short, it's been that kind of morning.
This has nothing to do with my prob please post this on your own forum not on mine thanks

Minecraft is awesome but the more powerful god is not Notch it's the creator of valve
I would suspect the mods also. Perhaps something one of them is doing is done in a way that is not allowing java to release after minecraft closes.
If it's not the mods then I suspect it could be the batch file script you're launching with. Can you post the script? I assume it's allocating more ram. How long have you waited after playing. It could be that java is just dumping memory/garbage collection and you're not giving it enough time to finish.

I was using a batch file to give minecraft less RAM cuz I bearly have enough hears the scrip javaw -Xms256m -Xmx700m -jar "C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\Downloads\minecraft.exe" I've waited a few hours and nothing it just sits forever and I wonder is it cuz I'm using both java6 and java7? I have to cuz my mother likes to play pogo even though its bugged to hell and stupid it only works with java6 so I had to use two versions

I doubt it. I still use Java 6 without any issues.
BUMP T-T I really want some form of help here.........ugh It's been a week......... I found a temp way to fix it if I use unlocker I can install mods even though javaw.exe is still running
Yeah, I'm having this same problem. It's a vanilla install and the interpreter is still using ~500,000 kb of my memory. The only solution I've yet come across is to uninstall and reinstall Java and hope against hope.
I actually came across your topic because I had the same problem, but I just figured it out. Javaw.exe CAN be closed through task manager. It is not under the "Applications" tab, it is under the next tab over, the "Processes" tab. You can close it from there. I hope this helps!
Dear, javaw.exe never appears in the "Applications" tab. We have--for this entire time--been talking about actions taken in the "Processes" tab.
Dear Xovvo, my name is just to the left - show a pinch of common respect and use the title I've provided. I call them as I see them, and there is not a single comment in this thread that says Sharkblast52 was talking about the "Processes" tab. I can, then, infer that he did as many would and never checked that tab and assumed that javaw.exe could not be closed because it was not under the "Applications" tab. I found this thread because I had the same problem earlier today -- I would try to move a mod out of my mod folder, but it would not move and a window would open up telling me that the mod cannot move as long as it is open in javaw.exe -- and after finding no help here, I decided to use task manager and see what I could do. When I chose the "Processes" tab and saw javaw.exe, I tried to end it and it ended with the first attempt. Now, with that situation in mind, I believe my post was absolutely appropriate. Let the guy who's asking for help decide whether or not it was helpful. If not, oh well, that wasn't the problem. Either way it goes, I did my part as a sufferer of a common grievance, and it was justified, so please, at least, remember to show some respect for the next person you decide to criticize. This isn't a competition. We're trying to help someone.
Dear, how would we know if javaw.exe is what's eating all of our memory if we didn't check the processes tab? That's the first place one looks when one notices that something is eating memory--because that's the only tab that tells you which things are using what amount of memory--something that the applications tab does not. While I'm sure your post was well-meaning, it comes across as being blithely ignorant.
It's like telling someone who's trying to find the slope at a single point that no, no--they need to divide the difference of the y-coordinates by the difference of the x-coordinates; Or asking the average someone having computer problems "did you try restarting your computer?".
It's kinda the first thing we tried.
It kinda didn't work.
You'll pardon if a few of us seem rather short with you.
Xovvo, nobody is "short" with me except you. I understand that, from your perspective, seeing someone suggest such an intuitive response to someone who's had the same problem for a couple weeks, you'd assume they are ignorant, but that's just not the case. Here, imagine this from my perspective, and I should add, beforehand, that the situation had nothing to do with memory consumption - that was not the concern in this particular situation, so it would be irrational to presume that Sharkblast actually had checked the "Processes" tab for that reason. Now, imagine I encounter the problem at hand. The first thing I decide to do is check online for a solution. As I browse, the problem appears to occur rather rarely, so I check the minecraft forum, which I trust to have a decent amount of solutions to such problems, but in this case, this one forum regarding this problem shared no solution. Aware that I probably wouldn't find something online in the time-span desired, considering both the rarity of forums regarding the problem and the tendency of search engines to give links to pages that really have nothing to do with what I want, I decide to go ahead and try to solve it myself. The first thing I do is check the task manager. After a quick look over "Applications" tab, I decide to move on to the "Processes" tab, where I find the javaw.exe process and choose to end it. It ends immediately, solving my problem and allowing me to work with my mods again.
Now, I consider Sharkblast's predicament, being without full control over his mods - or his computer, essentially - for over a week, I decide to go back to the forum. I read through and see that nobody (I emphasize, nobody) has even mentioned the "Processes" tab. Logically, I cannot say that the "Processes" tab is inferred or commonly understood. When problem-shooting, you cannot infer that the person in need of assistance knows the steps to solve his problem, because that is just lazy problem-shooting which is often fruitless. No, when problem-shooting - even when just suggesting - you have to articulate every step to the possible solution to better-ensure the desired outcome.
With all of this considered, I must say that I disagree with your stance. I did not come across as ignorant. My post was perfectly valid. At most, regarding my tone, you can say I may have sounded a little naïve, given my apparent excitement and emphasis and smiley face, et cetera, but that is, by no means a reason to call me out, unless you just want to try to say I'm wrong for trusting the people of the forum to approach this sort of thing with high spirits. So, if that was what inspired your somewhat cynical and assumptive criticism, then say so and bring this to an end, because I have no interest in such petty discussions, but if you really think I am somehow ignorant toward this problem, then please continue and try to enlighten me to what I've missed. I wouldn't count on the latter, though, because I have a good feeling that I have this pretty ing figured out.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
